Halloween Festivities

Its 9:30 on a Sunday and I'm so so tired!  We've been busy around here!  Packing it all in before Halloween.  There are some things we can probably give up next year.  But having a caboose makes you have one foot in the little kid activities and the other with the bigs!  And I don't want Soren to miss out on some of that fun stuff.

Most of us went to Cornbelly's on Friday (except Miles and Simone).  But Cornbelly's was freezing and not quite as fun as I remembered.  Probably because its designed for little kids.  I think we can give this up next year and Soren won't miss out or anything.  It was fun though.  I was so excited when Elise and Ethan and Monet and Carson wanted to come!  We especially liked the games where you throw a baseball or football at the different sized holes.  Soren tried the mechanical bull.  And we all had a little pizza.  I think we lasted a little over an hour and then called it.  Also the rat maze trailer was gone.  Our kids all loved that thing for many, many years.  Kinda sad that no one was interested in the corn box either.   It was such a classic.   I guess when we have grandkids we can go back to Cornbelly's again.  Or it could be that we were just cold and we need to go when its sunny and warm!

Soren and I went to Lagoon on Saturday!  We hit all the best rides: Cannibal, Rocket Re-entry, Colossus, Sky Ride, and Wicked.  And last night Soren and Miles went back to Cornbelly's to do the scary haunted Insanity Point.  Miles said Soren was a little scared of the chainsaw stuff. I thought it was sweet that Miles took him even though he'd just gotten home from a YM overnighter and wanted to do stuff with his friends.

Later Jared and I went to Tonya's 80's Prom!  So funny.  She is always thinking of creative party ideas.  I was seriously impressed with her skills.  Every Halloween we drag our feet about getting dressed up, but once we do it really is fun!  There are so many things going on, sometimes the planning is just hard to face.

Monet did the Haunted Half with her friends!  She ran in the hot dog costume!  So funny.  Next week is the New York Marathon so she had to take it easy.

And Simone had the Deadpoint Comp last week!  She got first place in her category on the first day.  And the second was the open category and she got to compete with the pros.  She held her own and got 12th which is pretty good!  This is a popular comp for the Team USA and other pros.  So she felt pretty happy to be hanging with them.  She was a farmer the first day and a hippie the next.

Yesterday she went with a group in costume up to some boulders and climbed with her coach.

Elise and Ethan dressed up as Cave people.  So cute.

And we all carved pumpkins today.  Such a fun night!  I tried hard to grow all our pumpkins this year but I only got three.  However one was green and made the perfect little turtle for Elise and Ethan.

I feel like we have all properly celebrated and I'm sure I'll be glad when it is all over tomorrow.  Lol.  I'm thinking watching a movie and just chilling at home sounds real good right now!  I've been up til 1am the past two nights and I'm wiped.

I'll have to update this with Miles and Soren's costumes!

Pictures of Grandma's and Dimitrios's house!

It was so fun for Soren to spend a few days with his cousins at Grandma's and Dimitrios's house!  They are the sweetest hosts and were so cute.  I heard a couple owls outside my window one night.  This is such a neat property!

Everything has a story at Dimitrios's!  These doors and a lot of the wood on his buildings is reclaimed.

We couldn't pet Ra and Quick because they run around in the poison ivy all day.  Darn!  I did once and got a rash.

Soren loves these little cousins!  Makes him get to play the big brother role for a little bit!

Its easy to see who Dylan belongs to!

Marge loved the Taco truck and hanging out with Annette.

The kids all slept on Grandma's big cozy sectional.  Bekah and I each had our own room.  Mom has made each space so comfortable and organized.  It was so fun!

Jane reminds me so much of Bekah!  That hairline is exactly like Bekah.
