Thanksgiving is a good way to start September. I am down with vertigo again today, but I'm coming out of it and am bored out of my mind. And HUNGRY. But everytime I eat it just comes back up. No more food until the vertigo is gone. I am trying to figure out what is triggering these episodes. It is kinda strange. I feel like it gets worse when I am trying to be healthy. My ear was ringing so loud this morning. But Soren was in our bed watching Elmo so I could sleep a bit longer. It was kinda nice to have the bad ear so I could sleep easy with my good ear to the pillow. There are perks to having hearing loss. I notice that I get super tired, a little confused and spacey, and I have the loud ringing right before and after an episode. But they have only been coming every month or so, so pretty manageable. Better than earlier this year anyway when it was coming about every other day.
So here is what I am thankful for right now:
My beautiful yard. It is getting there. I love this plot of land and the woods behind us. It is a dream come true and I am so thankful that we have it.
I have great kids. I love each of them so dearly. I spent the day at Swiss Days yesterday with Elise and it was so nice to be with her. I've loved talking to them and really hearing what is on their minds when tucking them in this week. Soren is so sweet, I love his little exploratory mind, even if it results in a lot of messes. It is fun to watch how his brain works. Simone is so giggly and funny. That girl has a great little sense of humor and is so happy all the time. Miles too is pretty darn funny. He is still loving scouts and got to help at Pack meeting. Jared is the new cubmaster and Miles was apparently very serious about it all. Monet has taught herself how to do a backhandspring. Classic Monet is to set a goal and do whatever needs to be done to reach it. She is so patient and loves to teach Simone how to do things too. I am not sure why we are paying to send Simone to gymnastics when we have Monet that seems to be doing a better job. Elise was very sweet this week and we had a lot of time to talk in the car ride up to Swiss Days. She is a pretty awesome girl and I am excited for this year. She loves her classes and things aren't so crazy busy as last year, which is perfect.
I have a pretty wonderful husband. Going on a trip together was so needed and so great. He makes me laugh and I just enjoy being with him so much. I love his charm, his humor, and his affectionate nature. He makes me feel so loved. We went on a date last week and it started a little rough. I was prodding him out of his comfort zone a bit and he was resisting. : ) But on the way home we had a great talk and it ended in talking about how he felt when he met me. It is amazing that there are still things you haven't told each other after 17 years together, I loved it.
I am thankful for a job we both love. Months end is always exciting because we get a list of those on our team who advanced in rank or had a great month in other ways. It is so awesome to see that achievement happening for so many, and to see how this has changed lives, starting with ours.
I am in Young Women's again! I am the beehive counselor and I love it. I get to have Elise in my class for a few weeks, then in six months I get Monet. I was happy to hear that they both were excited to have me in their class, I love my girls, and I really love Young Women's and all those sweet beehives.
I love our families. I am talking our brothers and sisters, moms and dads, etc. We had so much fun with Jared's family on the cruise. We missed those who couldn't come a lot. It is more fun with everyone. But we had a great time and I laughed a lot and shared some great memories. They are so entertaining. It was so nice of Nana and Papa to take everyone, we had a great time. We came home to Grandma and Grandpa G who spent the week playing phase 10, watching movies, and doing fun stuff like making balloon animals with the kids. It isn't easy watching five kids for a week, but the kids loved it and I think they will remember that fun week with Grandma and Grandpa. I love my Dad and my step mom, my mom and Dimitrios. We just have pretty awesome people in our lives and we are so lucky to have them. I am lucky to have parents that would really do anything for me. They show us so much support and whenever we've been in a rough patch they have been there for me 100% loving us and trying to help us in any way they can. I got to have each of my sisters and my mom visit in July and it was so much fun! I had the best time which I will write about later when I have my hard drive connected with my pictures.
I know super sappy post. But I needed it today. A little catching up was in order as well.
