Simone's New Do

On Friday Simone asked me if she could try short hair.  Of course!  It is always fun to try something new.  We scheduled her cut for the next day.  Simone was so excited she could hardly sleep.  She was able to donate her braid to Locks of Love.  We love her new A-line cut!  I think she looks adorable.

A little bit of Heaven

I have been holding off on posting pictures of the backyard because I wanted to do a before and after post.  It was really overgrown and needed a lot of work when we moved in.  But my pictures are on various hard drives and it would take too much work.  Anyway, here is our little bit of heaven.  Jared tells me at least daily how much he loves this house.  He always wanted chickens.  I was ready to buy the last house we lived in, but he was holding out for a bigger yard, and while I was concerned with how much work it would be, I've been enjoying it.  I love the privacy and views.  I love having trees, and enjoying the seasons right in our own backyard.  The chickens are pretty cute too!  We even got a cat, and I really love her.  She is so sweet, and stays outside all the time.  Perfect.  We raised six of these chickens from chickhood.  They hatched out of their eggs and were promptly shipped to us last Christmas.  Jared had the coop in the garage in our last house for awhile.  So glad they aren't in the garage anymore! Soren loves the chickens.  "Chicken" was one of his first words.  Sugar likes them too and will sit in front of the fence by them often.   We buy goat milk from a lady here in our town and she gave us the kitten.  It was born in the woodpile and loves being outside. I love that the birds don't come eat the dogfood on the deck anymore and make a mess!
